I took some video of them playing in the garden yesterday. Unfortunately, I missed the bit when Rhodie fell in the pond Hauled him out and he did that shake that dogs do, starting at the head and working down their bodies until they flick their tail to shake the last drops off. So many things they instinctively know
They're all asleep at the moment - except Spud, who never seems to sleep. Rhodie has climbed into Mary's bed and is curled up against her back. She has mellowed in her old age and puts up with a lot more teasing. Ted is in his drawer and Nellie is in another bed, covered with a fleece that Bessie sleeps on. I'll send the fleece with Rhodie and Nellie so that they have something familiar to sleep on. Baby is in the other big dog bed and Spud has curled up beside her.
You will miss them, but at least you know you gave given them the best possible start in life, and they are going to loving homes, and of course will still have 2 left to keep you and us amused. And from what you say, they seem to be helping Mary, a little bit as she gets older, cuddling up to her etc. ( you are keeping 2 is that right?) sorry if I've got that wrong and it's only 1.
Two were leaving this afternoon - now its three
Baby/Cia is also going to be collected and taken to Carmarthenshire.
Seems as well to get this over with in one go. Then we can adjust to being a family of just 4 dogs
Big hugs from me VC and thank you for all the wonderful posts and photos, they have brought so much joy to us all. You have given the pups a great start in life, many dogs are not so blessed.
