I don't normally take out pet insurance but the Vets gave me 4 weeks free cover with P3t Pl@n. Just rang the company for a quote for the pups but they wouldn't give me one as I couldn't confirm that their father wasn't a Dangerous breed or a Sharpei.
Hand on heart, I have no idea who their father was. There must be lots of dog owners, especially those who "rescue", who have no idea about the parentage of their pet.
The company are asking the Vet's opinion and then, they'll give me a quote.
I'm not even sure that i want to insure them, (or with them) just wanted a rough idea of the cost.
Anyway, we're off to the Vet this afternoon for their 2nd vaccination and microchipping. Hope they'll be brave boys againLast edited by veggiechicken; 18-02-2015, 01:35 PM.

We were with them for years then when Harry was about 10 he had a hernia at his back end, operated on, insurance paid out right away with no problems...a couple of hundred pounds! Fast forward 2/3 years later he has another hernia on the other side but with the added complicated of a twisted rectum. Sent to Glasgow University Small Animal Hospital, huge operation costing a few thousand pounds...no insurance paid as they said he had already had a hernia and they don't cover for the same thing twice, so were left to pick up the bill. Thank goodness for credit cards!
Guess what, that was the last penny they got from us! So much for the lovely caring about your animals company! All they are interested in is your money!sigpic

Don't forget the sole and only reason an insurance company exists is to make money for its share holders.
They are not there to care about you, your, car, your house or your pets only the bottom line at the end of the year.

The pups are vaccinated and microchipped .............but not insured!
The Vet had never been asked such a question before by an insurer. Presumably, if I'd said their father wasn't a "Dangerous dog Breed or a Sharpei" they would have believed me. Because I was honest and said I didn't know who the father was, they assume it much be a pit bull or summat.
The insurers have just rung again to confirm that I had been to the vets. Then we went through all the same questions as this morning - name, title!, DOB, address and the same for the pups; name of vet and phone number, until I ran out of patience and said that this was quite ridiculous and I had no wish to do business with them. Putting the phone down gave me great satisfaction.
As for the pups, they were so good at the vet's, wandering over the reception desk, pressing keys on the keyboard, eating all the treats, being snuggled by all and sundry, and finally, posing for photos for the Vet's FB page
