Still just 5 - hope it stays that way too
Bessie is the 4th dog that I've had from this Sanctuary - or is she the 9th?
She's just rushed out into the garden to do her business, leaving the pups alone. So here's a quick photo - its really hard to tell where one starts and the other ends. YOu can see the brown one on the left.
The pups were squealing for their mom and Bess was back in a flash. They've calmed down again now and are cwtched up between her paws............Awwwww
Aww - look at those five beautiful little labradors
They were squealing because of the cold. Newborn pups cannot keep their body temperature up themselves yet, they cool down ever so quickly. Imagine being thrown out of a cozy 39C to whatever it is on your kitchen's ground level... I most definitely would call for my mobile heater to return, too!
This is where a moderately warm hot-water bottle can give them comfort, and Bessie the time to go to the toilet in peace
I have a couple of those gel hot water bottles in with them and the den is against a radiator so its not too bad - but I hear what you say
As for the labradors - I'm sure one of them has tan markings around his feet and rump - like a doberman or, a Black and tan Cavalier.
I really expected them to be white like their Mum - the black fur threw me completely. I thought it was just the sac and when it was opened they'd pop out white and fluffy
Bess is a Cavachon which is a cross between a Cavalier and a Bichon Frise. I've no idea which was the Mum or Dad though. Not a clue what the dad of these pups was either
Suggestions so far:-
Labrador = a Cavador or a Labrachon
Doberman = Doberchon or Cavaman
Rottweiler = Rotterchon or Cavaweiler
Gordon Bennett............!! I have one day away moving Hoss muck & miss out on all the fun. I've just had to trawl through 6 bladdy pages to get a running commentary............Well done Bess & VC.................
