I have a chum with a Smooth Fox Terriorist. They have floppy ears, but for some reason, his started to stand up after a few weeks, and they both now stand fully upright! looks normal to us now, until you see a 'proper' one lol. I also know someone with a Rat Russell that has stand-up ears. Bat ears, I call 'em!

Both lovely dogs, by the way.
Our Wire fox stuck his ears up one day and they stayed like it for ever, Mr Pots called him Tulip tabs.
Best to say Tabs is a slang word for ears.
    Location....East Midlands.

    • A friends labrador had his tongue hanging out of the left side of his mouth throughout his whole adult life.
When he lost his puppy teeth the adult ones only grew on the front and right so poor old Henry always looked a bit of a div dog..

        • Aaah! ear'oles

Our lurcher's ears don't really match. There's always one up and one down....one facing forwards, the other back.
We think of it as dolby surround sound

When our Rhodesian ridgeback was small we had to watch for 'flying nun ears' (the proper term, I kid you not) when their paw pads go soft, they walk a bit funny (called crabbing) and their ears go most peculiar and stick out something shocking!
This occurs at about four to six months and their cartilige goes soft. They have to be restricted to lead walks and have their ears taped down (seriously) before the cartilige re-sets and it all becomes permanent.
Not sure if it's specific to ridgeback or if it's a giant dog thing....probably won't affect your babies but does imply that ear shape is not 'set' until at least six months?

          • Petal's ears are cavalier type flopping down fluffy ones and have looked like this in the pictures of her at 7 weeks. In fact she looks a bit like Dill the dog

            • Yep NorfolkGrey exactly like that except his would dangle when he was standing up!. Is that a greyhound? If so his face looks just like our Wilfie who passed away last November after having 5 years of terrible treatment and then 7 years of living with us in Weeting.

              • Yes red brindle, retired racer due to broken leg. We think he was badly mistreated in the first 18 months due to odd little quirks. Lost him in June to bone cancer. It is amazing how quickly they become family and how much you miss some of the strangest things.

Thankfully my BiL had him as a racer and we had him in his retirement and I know he loved both.

The main thing is that dogs should eventually get what they deserve just like Bessie and VC

                • When my Danny was a pup he had huge ears and they stuck up as you can see. The good news is he grew into them and one flopped down after a while, then the other.

His ears are bigger than his legs!

                    • Its so tiring being a Mother - said Bessie

She made a little nest for the pups, dragged/ carried them in her mouth into the nest and pushed the blanket around them. Then she flopped over and went to sleep
