Don't worry, the pics will keep coming, and coming........................and coming
I've been trying to identify and weigh them. Bear with me, I may need your help!
There are 5 pups, 3 boys & 2 girls. One is brown.
Write down, one brown pup, and Pups A, B,C & D.
Look at the wriggling heap of puppies and one has white on its chin - Puppy A becomes "White chin".
One has brown on his legs - Puppy B becomes "brown legs"
Three puppies have white fur on their chests in different shapes - one is a small white patch, one is T shaped, another looks like a Pi symbol.
I grab a pup and weigh it, then put it back in the heap before Bess wants it back.
At the end, I've written down 6 puppy details
Try to start again but its impossible. Found the "extra" puppy though - Brown Puppy and "White chin" are the same puppy. He's a boy so there are 2 black boys and 2 black girls.
Most of them weigh about 264 grams - about 30 grams more than the one I weighed yesterday (but which one that was I haven't a clue).
To further aid identification, one sounds just like Sweep - haven't a clue which one though
Morning SP
The only sounds here are slurping, sucking and grunting............once I've finished my breakfast I'll tell you about the puppies
I haven't had a good look at them today, they're lined up at the Milk bar. Its hard to see how many are there as they blend into each other. Sometimes, all you can see is a tail, or a back leg, or a little nose that come burrowing out from between her legs.
Very cute. Whoever said I wouldn't get much work done once the puppies arrived was absolutely right!!
Another puppy piccy - snatched while Bessie was outside!
You can see the black and tan pup on the left and the brown one on the right. The three in the middle are all much the same - so far.
They're really glossy, except the brown one whose fur seems coarser. Maybe he'll be a shaggy one like his Mum.
No news from her first owner. I wonder whether she'll ever reply to the Sanctuary?
Unbelievably gorgeous puppies. Thankfully the previous "owners" of Bessie gave her up, as now she and the gorgeous ones are well loved (by many aunties and uncles) and more importantly you VC.
Labrador breeders exactly know how you feel! Of course, a solution to this identification problem has already been found.... There are puppy id collars available like these: Trixie Breeders Puppy Collar Set at Canine Concepts
The clip will open up if a puppy should get stuck somewhere so no safety issues, and obviously there is no ring or anything to attach a leash to as they can't even walk yet Great side effect is that the pups are already used to wearing a collar when they get older.
Such collars are a lot more reliable than small white markings, because those may disappear over time!
In that last picture of yours, only two look really black ??? but maybe it's just their shiny coats that fool me.
