  • I have been following the thread just watching them grow. The puppies look so grown up now. Can't believe how time has flown by as I missed all the excitement by being at the garage getting my car MOT.
You must be very proud not just of Bessie but also yourself VC. Bessie is very lucky

I spend all my time in the kitchen these days, with the pups - and the camera
Who wants to watch TV when there are 5 little rascals running around
Its funny how there always seems to be one missing, four will be somewhere obvious and the 5th will be hiding under a chair, or behind a box.

      • The puppies are just so adorable. The first thing I do when I get home from work each day is to see if there's any new photos. Think there's going to be collective heartbreak on this site when the homing process begins (but hopefully that won't be for a while?)

        • I don't want to think of them leaving home - feeling sad already

          • Perhaps now is a good time to point out that modern thinking on the rehoming of puppies suggests ten weeks is a good age, as opposed the usual age of seven to eight weeks.

Certainly for those of us with very big dogs, ten weeks is better. This is because doogy manners and bite inhibition are taught (by mummy dog) at about the eight to nine week mark. Some of the more fiesty ones take an extra few days to really get it.
Zuva was nearly knee high at ten weeks...with very big teeth.
Also, at ten weeks puppies sleep patterns are more regular and they naturally indicate a wish to toilet (often by turning in circles with their nose to the ground).

Puppies are considerably more independant at ten weeks than at eight weeks. They pine much less for their siblings and mother and settle in their new homes much faster.

So, I reckon it's best all round if they stay with you a bit longer.
            Better for them.
            Better for their new owners.
            Better for you.
And most importantly of all...better for us virtual aunties and uncles!

Sorry these are a bit rushed - too much pressure from the fans and they didn't have time for hair and makeup
