  • Whoops, meant to say, collies are notorious for becoming one man/woman dogs. Nice feeling for the one man/woman but it can cause problems when other are around. There is a real need to familiarise collies with others before they become attached. I'm probably teaching my grandmother how to suck eggs

    • Hello from Puppyland where its becoming crazier every day
We've just had our weigh-in and Black Pudding has broken the 1 kilo barrier at 1.043. In fact, he's so big he doesn't fit in the weighing scales bowl and I had to use a mushroom box.
One of the little ones peed in the bowl! Maybe trying to lose weight before weighing - like you do at slimming clubs.
The little girl is a mere 679 grms but is the most playful of the lot. She plays High 5s with your finger.
Brown pudding, who looks like a teddy bear, just wants to chew your fingers and sleep.
Curly doesn't mind what he does, he always ends up upside down whatever.
The bigger girl is putting on weight rapidly and is vying for the title of Pudding - she's 914 gms and knows she's pretty in a cuddly way.

They're all asleep now and, apart from Mary's snoring, all is peaceful

AP we had a collie for nearly 14years, he was my dog but was happy to be taken out with anyone who would walk him or go and play with the kids! Growing up with twins he thought he was one of them lovely nature, just needed lots of attention and plenty of exercise.

The puppy is a new thing for me, I've forgotten most of what I knew. He is already showing a wicked streak. I'll socialise him well, he had several visits from the boys mates yesterday. I know he'll need firm handling, already herding chickens but I'm looking forward to the challenge ...I may need to reread this post in a few months time when I'm pulling my hair out cos he's been up to mischief!!
