    • Do you know anyone who could give you a baby vest VC? Poor wee Bessie but as Jeanied said she will soon be back to bubbly puppy self!

      • The vet suggested a babygro, a toddler's t-shirt (or a special post-op suit at £x ).
I've tried the top part of a stocking on Spud. He looked so funny with a wasp-waist and black curls either side. It may work for Bessie. If all else fails I have a bustercollar

        • I think Jean used either a leg or top of tights, probably not 10 denier though lol

            • Ahhhh Bessie, bless her, she's had a lot happen to her in a very short time. She'll be fine lots of cuddles, love and treats!

              • Can you give Bessie some soft, baby cuddles from me? She'll be fine, a good night of zzzzzzzz and well she'll be creating havoc again.

                • The tights I used were for me - a large lady They were thick winter tights but if you need to buy new they are still cheaper than a buster collar and will last longer! I used the thigh section for both of my dogs and cut a piece about a foot long to slip over their heads and pull their front legs through. Then I cut 2 rings from the remaining part, split them to make a tie, poked a hole for the back of the neck and the front and looped them through to make a tie to hold the back and the front onto the collar. The vet has been recommending this to her patients now.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

                  • Just to add, thinner tights will work but they can lick through easier so they may not last as long.

                    • Thanks Jeanie
I already have a bustercollar but I'm worried about the pups getting to Bessie's wound. I'll try a few few prototypes with thin tights (because I have some) and if they work, I'll buy some thick ones.

Bess has been sitting up in her basket but not attempted to walk around yet. Early days.

                      • Rosie trashed her buster collar in a day which made me experiment with tee shirts and then the tights. By the time it came to Petal I realised either she would eat the collar or Rosie would! Between them it would have lasted no time at all lol.

                        • I remember my old Rosie, after her eye ops, trying to go out through the dogflap wearing her bustercollar She couldn't work out what was stopping her and kept on pushing and pushing. Nose out but not much else

                            • Bess is a bit brighter this morning and we've had a walk round the garden.
I'd modified a stocking so that the top was around her chest and cut legholes in it for her........legs and tail. There was a slight design flaw though. The backend was a pootrap I had to rip the stocking off as she struggled to do her stuff MkII reqquired!
She's "told" the pups and Mary to keep their distance. How long they'll remember is debatable.
Thanks for all your cuddles and good wishes.
