.............she noticed, out of the corner of her eye (the blue one, not the glass one) a slight movement. Turning her head very slowly..........yes, there it was again, just the faintest of movements and a quiet rustling, like leaves in the trees on a spring morning.
She cocked her head to the side, like a bird, listening, trying to make out the sounds........was it voices or was it.............

the fact that her glasses were covered in smudgy finger-prints...

and her hearing aid had fallen out? No, there it was again ...

...but she couldn't quite see what was happening. She took her glasses off to give them a rub, and when she put them back on, the kitchen was spotless, all pots and pans scrubbed clean, plates, cups glasses all sparkling in their proper place, floors and surfaces gleaming.

In that twinkling of an eye, the GR had been invaded by the Nac Mac Feegle, aka the Wee Free Men, and they were already halfway out of the door with a full bottle of single malt, which they considered fair reward...

Of course there was always a scramble to try to get some hooch for free whenever there was mention of the annual closedown and as Ap stood up to the bar to order...................

...but as Bearded Bloke rose, glass in hand, to make a toast, the cellar door swung back on its hinges with a crash, and...
