  • G'Moooooooooooooooooooooornin' Peeps! We have 'clean dog' weather at the moment, and they're currently 'assisting' hubby with the morning egg collection. Well, verbally anyway!

I'm having a quick cuppa before going off to do morning horse chores, then its back to the grind-stone, I guess. We're a bit behind schedule on the job I've taken on with my Sister, so I have to get it done today, and the dust bunnies and cobwebs will have to wait until tomorrow afternoon.

Keep well, oh, and kettle's hot! Catch ya later.

    • Morning all. It was sunny and frosty first thing, but now the frost has gone and the sunshine is getting hazy. The wind and rain isn't supposed to reach us until this evening so I think I'll spend a couple of hours on the allotment today. I've still got quite a lot of winter weeds to clear, that'll keep me warm!

          • Morning all! Porridge for brekkers today to keep me warm!

I have some baking to do (have to nip up the road first for a couple of ingredients), run the vac round, sow the seeds I was going to sow yesterday, maybe erect the blowaway that I bought for a tenner from W1lko yesterday; and go for a run.

Thanks for that, BB - I bought a half pint mugful from the potato day, hence no instructions.

                • Had a blow today, we woke up to hear Rosie our springer gasping for breath. i rushed her to the vets but she had to be put down. Apparently advanced heart failure or possibly secondary cancer from her amputated leg. Only ten and my best mate along with Danny.

My son and his x were there with me (Rosie was theirs originaly) and never has a dog been covered with so many kisses as she slipped away.

                    • Oh dear Bill...that's really sad news. Rosie looked like a real sweetie.

You clearly cared a lot for her- and she would have known that for sure- and must have said thank you, in her way ,in so many ways.

Big hug for you all xxx

                            • Oh no, Bill - that's such sad news. I hope that you find some comfort in the fact that she had the best life that she could have had with you, and she will have felt secure and happy in her place in the 'pack' for the time she was with you.

                              • I cant get over that moment just as the vet stuck his syringe into her leg, she looked at me for reassurance and I smiled and said "Its ok girl" The trust in her eyes made me feel like an utter traitor. That moment is going to be with me a long time. I know it had to be done, I know it was for the best, but the feeling remains. Thank you all for your kind comments.
