I blame BB - he was on about mucking about with the coding or summat earlier - it smacks of tinkering to me!

          • Right - off to the pub for a late 'un.

Need something to give me some backbone - have spent the evening bellowing at my mother - who not only cannot wear her hearing aids (BEST THINGS EVER!!!!) for the past few days as she's having her ears syringed early next week, but the 'solution of bicarbonate of soda - for ears' that she has been prescribed seems to have totally bunged up the auditory works.

Told her to go back to the pharmacist tomorrow to make sure she's doing it right ('drops three times a day - I think that's what the doctor said') - I thought you put olive oil in your lugholes prior to syringing? 'Yes, I think that's what the nurse said', said mum when I raised the issue with her.....

If you tried to use my cat, VC, you'd end up wearing the cat, I think!

                        • Morning all. Hazel, my next door neighbour had a cat like yours - then she took him to the vet! Now he's a big old cuddly Hector.

Very overcast here - hoping that (a) it might brighten up a bit or failing that (b) it won't actually rain, so that I can go to the plot. So MUCH to do - on the plus side, it wasn't dark until 5.40 last night, so it does feel more springlike.

I have just had an unusual, but quite palatable breakfast. I am doing Slimming W***d diet plan - need to lose weight before 5th April as I am going on a Nile cruise during Easter hols and I don't fit into my summer clothes. So, 1 oz of porridge oats soaked in hot water and left for a bit, then sweetened. Mix with chopped fresh fruit - I used an orange then top with a dollop of fat free fromage frais. (I have to doctor this heavily to make it edible .... add vanilla essence and artificial sweetener to a tub and stir vigorously). This should keep me going - my word, it is filling!

Hope you all have a good day, doing whatever you have to.

This time next month we will be thinking about setting the clocks forward, so you will get an extra hour of playtime in the evenings then Susie

woke raring to go only to be faced by persistent precipitation. Had great plans for the plot today but hey, every day is Saturday in retirement land

Hope the weather's kinder wherever you are
