    Grockle
A holidaymaker, or one from out of town. Particularly used in the South of England, generally as a mildly derogatory term.
I wish those grockles would all go home, 'cos I can't find anywhere to park the car.

    • I suppose i shall have to take her advice (Though she is the very worst when its her who should visit the doc) I did try one last ditch attempt at diagnosis by filling in all my symptoms, height weight etc onto an online diagnostic program, it actualy thinks I am six months pregnant.

Yes we have a street full of gift shops here called grockle row. But I have only been here 20 years so am probably still a grockle myself.

            • Torquay is definitely a grockle sump, unlike Hornchurch.

Still it's a lovely sunny morning here so I'd better get moving and do something useful. One more cup of tea first though I think.

              • Good morning, sunny but very windy here. Got the day catching up on washing clothes and cleaning the flat. We decided yesterday to move the furniture so we could have the fish tank next to where my OH sits. And my hangover decided to show an appearance about dinner time. I thought I'd got away with it. So I was just lay on the couch felling very sorry for myself.

About to make some breakfast and make a cup of coffee, would anyone like some?

Ahh Hornchurchuch I remember it well, any place that locates a pub in the middle of a roundabout (two times) has to be worth a visit I visited there for a week & stayed for nearly 4 years

                  • My other half spent most of his formative years in The Bull pub at Hornchurch and as he was born there knows (or knew until I introduced him to the challenge of rural living) very well.

                    • Good afternoon/evening. Well the flat is now clean and I've still got a load of washing to do but I will finish it off tomorrow instead. Put the lamb leg in the slow cooker this morning, it is smelling lovely now. I have peal and cut the potatoes, cabbage and carrots. Made a Yorkshire pudding mix to make homemade Yorkshire puddings. All ready for me to just turn it on later
