  • Morning another wet day here so I'll be in my Gh potting on my toms then bringing them back into the house.

Blackberry scones aren't a good idea I know they've got seeds but they still come as a surprise.

        • Morning All - wet and windy but the sun is trying. Must try harder. Reminds me of my School Reports - "Must try harder..........is capable of better ...........etc etc"

Carrie, Martin was still in hospital yesterday http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gra...ml#post1343358

Have a good day everyone - especially those returning to work after their long weekend.

Thanks for asking. My recovery has been much slower than planned, I was expecting 3 to 5 days but I'm up to 8 already with no clear end in sight. Still, I'm feeling much better today and I'm hoping to be out by the weekend.

I'm really missing the garden and allotment!

              • Glad you're feeling better Martin. Fingers crossed you're out for the weekend but you'll still have to take it easy! A little light seed sowing perhaps.

                  • Morning all, pouring with rain and very, very windy! When is the good weather going to return and when are we going to get some heat in the air so that I can get these plants outside?!

Oh dear Nicos, just read your rant and have every sympathy with you! I'm having palpitations just thinking about this as me as boats don't go. Me and turbo props don't go well either but I'm going to have to brave it out in a couple of weeks to visit my daughter as there a lot of engineering works on the railways and most of the return trip would have to be done by coach instead of train...which is my usual mode of transport when I visit her! Anyhoo, hope the trip goes well Nicos, will be thinking of you.

                    • Afternoon, it stopped raining and now its windy the scary sort with things blowing around so i won't be putting my gutter grown peas in. Never mind I've been jumping around with the Wii and plan to do a bit of reading, just downloaded One straw Revolution.

Take care Martin xx we're all hoping you'll be soon fit enough to be released soon.

                        • Evening All.
Just had a terrible shock...............I found my chicken's leg on the floor

I can tell you that I had to have a strong black coffee and a sit down before I could even touch it. Poor old chicken was really struggling with only one leg. I picked her up and sat her on the table while I tried to work out if her leg could be re-attached.
There was really nothing I could do except fetch a pair of pliers to hold her leg while I gingerly wiggled it back into place.
Luckily, it went accordingly to plan and her leg slipped back into place. She's moving it as well as ever now.

I'm sure you don't think its possible so here's a photo to prove it...............

Morning, not sure what the weather is like today(please let it not be raining) not open the curtains yet. I am working again today, I will be glad when it's the weekend and I can rest. Just made coffee, anyone want one?

Morning all!! Fingers crossed for less wind today, I might be in trouble tonight. Potted on most of my toms as the weather changed over the weekend but I think it's going to get colder. Not sure if I can carry that lot in now. I wish the weather would pick up!
