    • I've been having a lazy morning, but I'll get going soon. It looks like being a decent enough day, although not exactly hot.

Weed, lupins started from seed early in the year will often flower that same year, although they will only have one flower spike and it won't be full size.

I've got too many seedling lupins in my greenhouse at the moment. I realised in the spring that all mine had died out so last month I sowed a pot of seed that I'd collected in 2011. I thought germination might be patchy but no, I've now got the usual problem of being reluctant to throw any away in case they turn out to be good ones.

Ah well, one more cup of tea then I'll get going...

        • Very early start this morning as I had to pick my son up from a van rental depot. Then we went and sat in the market square and had coffee. His girlfriend has now picked him up and as I'm not able to do any gardening this year 'cos I have the builders in I ought to be doing some work in the house. But it's too nice so I'll hang the washing out and then tootle off back down into town and have a pub lunch.

I did sort and tidy my seed packets out whist I was having my first cuppa tea. I counted 130 but I'm sure that's not all of them. I might do some planting in pots, so that might help satisfy my urge to grow things.

          • Just spent half the day crafting the wording on a proposal for a Client - need to have a lie down now! I always have a stab of panic as I press the 'send' button on these things, just in case I've not attached the attachments/attached the wrong attachments/called the Client by the wrong name etc etc

Now some mundane phone calls to be made, but I think that we deserve a coffee first?

              • Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevenin' Peeps! I came home full of enthusiasm today, got my tools out the car, lugged 'em round the back, and promptly lost the urge. I've started so many jobs, I really ought to finish at least one of 'em. So, you guessed it, I had a coffee!

                Oh well, this won't do...

                  • Evening all. Did quite a bit of weeding down the allotment. Had to cover the strawberries up with plenty of netting. They look lovely and juicy already. Hope they will be ready by the weekend

                            • Morning, I survived work yesterday! Then I went over to my daughter's to help her with some paperwork as OH was playing golf. Her tomato plants I planted 10 days ago are doing better than mine!
Ring other half to get a Chinese takeaway as I was still at daughter's. He suggested we went out for a meal, so I met him in town and we had a lovely Italian meal. So I did not get home until late. What turned out to be an ordinary day turned out to be a lovely day.

                              • Home off sick today. I have now given in to the throat infection which started at the weekend, as I now have no voice! No good in the classroom. Was lovely and sunny first thing but cloudy now.
