  • Evening all. Had quite a bit of rain here but think it will of just dampened the surface of the soil so will end up watering tomorrow I think.
Been to allotment going to have sort out the cabbage as they are touching the top of the netting that I put over them. That's going to be a job for me and my little helpers on Sunday I think.
    Have a good evening everyone

        • Up at 5:30 this morning (couldnt sleep) watered everything, clear blue sky. By 11 am the heavens opened up with torrential rain, it filled all my water butts 900 litres and my fish pond rose at least an inch and a half. thats more rain the some countries get in a year!

Friday is Charity shop day, looking forward to it as well.
Ham salad for tea, with warm spuds of course.
Anyone got any good receipes using potatoes for evening meals, lunches etc?

              • Mornin all

Think my waterbuts will be filled again!
Our brown/ orange lawns are actually looking refreshed this morning- still, I doubt the tubs will have benefited.
We're growing rainbow chard to put in some tubs at the front of the house instead of flowers- should look pretty!

                  • Spuds go with anything Sally! We very rarely eat pasta or rice. Though last nighti was pan fried chicken breast with a ton of sautéed chard, onions and garlic, a large splash of cream to finish. Served with broad beans and griddled courgettes. It was delicious!
It's hot here again, it's supposed to be around the 25's so my plants in the GH have already been watered.

                        • Watch out, Cardiff, I'm on my way.

Have packed a weekend bag which sensibly contained spare undies, a couple of tops and dress for eating out in the evening, lippy and a toothbrush.

After the usual 5mins-to-leave panic, it now contains my gym things, cossie, jumper (just in case), alternative shoes, waterproof, suncream, emergency biscuits , todays paper inc. crossword, phone charger, another top, and matching trousers. And a bottle of water, just so when I meet up with my big sis later she can see how sensible I am.

                          Wela i chi, peeps.
