    • Hummph! I've got 2 productive cherry trees but I've never had a cherry off either of them. Planted by a previous owner the next one didn't bother to look after them. They are now too tall to be netted so the birds eat all the fruit before it's ripe.

Glad you enjoying beautiful West Wales. Have you been out to any of the islands yet - like Skomer or Caldy? Probably a bit early for sealpup spotting but puffins and dolphins perhaps
just got back went to catch the boat around skomer sadly no boat too windy so walked for miles along the cliff tops found some seals and brilliant sun shine we are now burnt to a crisp but loving it

        • Looks gorgeous, Weed Each time I've tried to go to Skomer, the boat's been unable to land because of the wind. One day, maybe? Its beautiful, just looking out to sea and walking the clifftops.
How many more days down west for you?

          • Evening All. One of the nurses brought me more gooseberries today, so I'll have another go at goosegog jam at the weekend. I must confess, I burnt the last lot! Never made jam with gooseberries before so that was my excuse. The receipt was from the internet and said that as the berries boiled they would turn pink. My son noticed before I did that they were turning brown

Forgot to tell you that the ceramics exhibition at the museum was far more interesting that you might think - and they'd managed to keep arty farty nonsense speak to a minimum.

Mind you, there was one bit about the fragility of the porcelain being akin to the human condition or somesuch, but apart from that bit of being up oneself, it was great. The rest of the museum was really good too - I do like those portraits, and the stories behind them.

We arrived at 3 minutes past 10, and were asked to leave at closing time, so we did get our monies worth - oh, even better, it was free. We did leave a tidy donation though as it was well worth it.

Sorry, Janie - my tree in the courtyard has never had a better year (and may have earned a reprieve), but I have to get the steps out to pick the higher bunches.

                • Morning All

Cooler night last night again last night, down to 12 so freshened up the ait a tad. Unfortunately for me I have shopping duties this morning so will be trudging up and down the shop whist the OH decides what we need.

Hoping to spend the afternoon over the allotment as I have a touch of pruning to do, well chopping down a diseased plum tree to be exact.

Hope you all have a good day

                      • Mornin all!

Today I shall mostly be doing hayfever

Ah well, the sun is shining, the calves are gently mooing in the back field , the birds are chirping, and there is a freshness in the air.
Brill- it's a lovely time of day!

There is a loud snoring noise in the background this morning where both dogs are having a long lie! Wish it was me.

Have a great day everyone...enjoy the shopping GL, I know how you feel.

                          • Morning I'm hoping for a dry day I need to turn my compost bins, tidy up the blackberries and dry some washing, no real plans apart from that. Plan B is to do housework then read.

It's lovely outside and we should get to low 70's. Got lots of tomatoes, need to get them ripe. Then it would be spuds AND toms with every meal lol
