  • Morning all! Sunshine but a sharp wind today.

I've got nothing vital to do at the Hill today, but I could cut some stakes and replace some of the rotten ones which support the raised beds. Or I could go for a run.

Not liking the sound of either of those options, to be honest.

        • Good morning, weather is dry here. I've just sow some more Tom thumb peas for the windowsill. Not much to do today, may go and read my book.

Nearly finished the kitchen cupboards, BM - just the little shelf unit with the recipe books on to empty and clean. I'll see if I can turn out any recipe books to the charity shop.

Excellent plan, Nicos - starting with underwear drawer and see how many odd pairs of socks I have!

                • Hi All. That bra should have sprouts in it BM, if you'll pardon the expression
It is absolutely freezing here too, but with a bonus of bright and shiny. Just about to have my cheeky glass or two of red. Bet your house smells divine Nicos (the lamb, not the furniture polish).

                  • Tooooo cold for plot, or anything else really, so I've made a cake, a banana and walnut tea bread, had some bananas that were not going to get eaten, but they have made superb cake.

Pop round anyone, it's still warm.

Be there in a tick, Dotty!

I have not been idle - on BM and Nicos' suggestion, I now have a very neat chest of drawers. I also have a pile for the charity shop/rag bag/bin consisting of an odd sock; three teatowels that I don't use; a spare hand towel; various ancient lavender bags; a bikini with perished elastic; four pairs of popsocks with pulls; a tie; a pair of fishnet tights ; a floaty scarf (red); a more substantial scarf (blue/grey); a pair of shorts and a pillowcase.

I've just been up the road for the paper, and yes, it is bitterly cold! I'm just mulling over going up into the attic room to do some more work on a quilt that needs to be completed - I'm about 3/4 of the way through quilting it, but I've done nothing with it for about twelve months .

                        • I've just been sat out in the sun at my mums house having a few drinks. Back home now as the OH is cooking our tea.

No. If it's too cold to go running, and to cold to be at the Hill, then it's too cold to come and sort out your cr@p.

I spent most of the day clearing allotment stuff to put in the hut and cutting boards to make raised beds - I then took some cut offs up to the site to leave fro someone who had lost a couple of raised beds - lovely and sunny here and there today - I only had a fleece. (no jacket) needed - however I appreciate some of those from softer climates can't put up with anything less than 70deg :-)
