There is no lower cupboard. The kettle is above the fridge, where the milk is. The cups are in the cupboard above, on the top shelf. The bisquits are on the shelf below the cups - at eye level.
I can't abide badly planned kitchens - we have a tiny pokey little rabbit-hutch of a kitchen, so it has to be laid out sensibly.
All the best - Glutton 4 Punishment Freelance shrub butcher and weed removal operative.
That reminds me; I popped in to check on a chum last week, who was feeling rather under the weather. She wanted a cuppa, and it took me chuffin ages! The kettle was as far from the fridge as you could get. The cups, were near the fridge, but nowhere near the kettle or the cuttlery drawer.. The tea bags were in one cupboard and the coffee was in another. Nutter!

Wow lucky you VC!!
I'm the opposite to you Scarlet and all my goodies are kept at my eye level so when the MiL comes to visit she can't see in my cupboards as she is so tiny...bonus!
Talking about k*tchens -hopefully I'm allowed to ask this question, if not could a mod delete it, thanks - has anyone had a new k*tchen fitted recently? Could anyone recommend a decent company?

My wife changes the contents of our k*tchen cupboards round roughly monthly. I am still looking for things that I knew where they were 6 changes ago. My only hope is that at some stage things will be back to where they were when my brain first mapped out the cupboard contents. I hate change even when it is for the better. Our local supermarket completely chaged everything about two years ago and I am still looking for stuff in its old place.

We did last summer, was a recommended local chap, excellent job, all worked very hard and v long days. Planning 'person ' came along first, and drew up several possibilities. Would recommend you ask around in your area, and also get a couple of estimates at least. We had one quote 9.000 more! Think it was for gold taps. Look for personal service, someone who is proud of their work. Be prepared to 'camp' foe a couple weeks and makes lots of teas/ coffees.
