Club run tonight too - when it will be 29deg.....

What only 29 degs Hazel! 32 here ( so they say).

It ended up at 31 degrees this afternoon, and I've worked up a sweat just sitting behind the desk, so I've bottled out of the club run . Club run on Monday, though and I ran to the Hill and back last night (and did an hour's weeding), so I feel fairly virtuous.

So a free evening - I'll do some baking, shall I?

It's so hot here Son no1 can't play Xbox cos his room is like a furnace he must follow his mum. Even the showers at the swimming pool were too hot to get in. So I'm chilling my wine I think i deserve a drink tonight. I was expecting it to rain but it never came. Let's hope it's cooler tomorrow.

I've prepped a load of veg and have it marinading for a biryani (?sp) - I love a good veg curry and my hairdresser gave me a 'foolproof recipe' when she last came over and hacked at the ol' noggin.

I need to make some really nice biscuits so I can take a few to Cardiff with me at the weekend - I'm meeting up with my big sis for our annual 'girls weekend away', and a few nice biccies will go down nicely if the hotel fails on the 'hospitality tray' front.

I came in the house to get a cold drink at this afternoon to see the dog panting really heavily. I thought he must be over heating or something I got a wet towel, soaked it in cold water to rub him down and give him a cool off, he loved the attention until Son N2 came out of the shower and said "what are you doing? We've just been for a run". It's impossible to walk in this, never mind run.

Our older dog, nearly 14, was very unsettled this morning with the heat. Read on the internet to lay down a damp towel so that he could lie on it. Did this, he lay on it and had a very comfortable day! Why didn't I think of this...truth be told, I felt like joining him but resisted the temptation!

Morning all. A bit cooler here today and the weather peeps have said we could have some rain today.
So haven't really got anything planned yet just depends on when this rain comes across.
Anyway have a good day everyone and I hope everyone who frazzled yesterday is a little bit cooler today

Last night I happened to see some of Wimbledon on the TV.
How on earth do those guys cope???

Ironing this morning whilst it's still cool ( the rain has dramatically helped) and then finish of one border with the weeding and planting out.

Gosh- I can hardly believe it's nearly weekend - where have the past few days gone????

Hurrah! I have secured the Holy Grail- a doctor's appointment! I think everyone is as fed up with my bad throat as me. Hairdresser is coming later to cut all our hair so that will be cooler afterwards. No rain as yet, it's forecast for around 11.
Percy has brought in a mouse and it's in the TV stand. He is lying in wait for it to appear. I have moved all the furniture I can in the hope he'll remove it. He appears to be snoozing now so my hopes aren't high.
