  • Santa's Sleigh (or is it)

This is one for members with small children (or maybe big 'uns ) you can put a bit of magic back into Christmad, on December 24th the international space station will be passing over the UK at approximately 6:00 pm, if the sky is clear it will be visible to the naked eye for upto 6 min's (depending on location).

Use this page to get accurate times, direction to look, etc ........ NASA - Spot The Station ..... use the Location Lookup tab to find your nearest city, fingers crossed for a clear evening

oh I shall be a big kid! we're away in the van so will be really christmassy as we're not bothering with decs at home so will be decorating the van xmas eve when we get to site. Staying way out in the sticks so if its clear we should be able to see it. I can see it now standing outside with a large mulled wine in hand showing it to the dogs - (our babies)!!!!

We often watch the ISS going past. You can't mistake it for anything else. It's the fastest brightest thing in the sky. When it's visible. Love it it's great

We've seen it quite a few times, it's just so magical. Amazing to think there are people spending Christmas in space.

I'll make a point of looking out for it....might need reminding though!

Lovely idea that Santa will fly past it too

Bet you didn't happen to look behind you and watch the one go through the constellationn of Auriga just below the main star Capella. It was at about the same time so you could watch either one and most will have been looking at the ISS.

I just happened to look around and see it going Northwards.

Still close to your family & friends then RL, that's good upheaval is never good but moving far from your nearest & dearest would have been worse

I remembered...we'd been looking forward to it all day...and about 10 mins earlier it clouded over!

Well done to all those who did manage to see it!
