I have got very attached to my turkeys so I will be keeping 2 girls and a boy so I can breed my own next year ( hopefully). I've got names for them already but they haven't been named yet. Nothing gets a name that might end up in the oven. So after Christmas the 3 remaining turkeys will be named giblets, sage & onion.
Tomorrow is going to be a hard one. Choosing which one is christmas lunch . But he will be treated with the upmost respect in the kitchen as he has in the field

This might make a few people wince - it certainly is making me feel tighter-fisted: it's about £60. Wild-reared, free range organic norfolk bronze. I can see why royalty were the only people who could eat it...

Thats not bad. My health visitor paid £85 or £95 for a black norfolk last year and she said she would happily pay again - it was that superior to any plain ole turkey (commercial/supermarket)

At that price I would want it framed not eaten!

Cost is zero for me too. One of my relatives (always comes for xmas dinner) has insisted on paying for the meat and she prefers rib of beef. (as do I). Therefore a festive treat.

Just have to make sure I don't cremate it............
