Unfortunately I am painfully fussy and when i see meat or fish going cheap I imagine the conversation that preceeded the reduction. " ere Burt that bass stinks" "Mark it down then"

And yet my fussyness seems not to prevent me from retrieving a mouldy piece of cheese from the bin, scraping off the mould and eating it! Such strange creatures, us humans.

Love this thread - especially BM's bargains!! (sure thats a shop?!)

We do our shopping online so no chance of yellow sticker bargains, although this makes me want to start loitering around the supermarket on an evening!

I once bought 10 packs of 5 bagels as they were stickered to 5p per pack (so 50p for 50 bagels!) - I was so proud of myself, but the OH was not impressed when he saw them all stacked up in the freezer

We do not get yellow stickers over here, but back in the UK i was awful, i always went shopping at 7:15pm in Sainsburys and i got so many amazing bargains. In lidl they do 30% but thats it.
A good one to remember is on Xmas eve they reduce all the turkeys, not that i eat meat but most of the family does and we have not bought a full price one in 15 years! I mean top of the range bronze stuff. Even better if you can get out of your PJ´s on boxing day they are 80% off, i remember taking home free range ducks/geese/turkeys etc that should have been 60pounds plus for 6 pounds

I also used to go bin raiding in the UK, i do not do it here as people who are are more desperate than i really need the stuff. I once went to a co-op at midnight, pulled out 20 large ferrero rocher packs (in date), could have taken 100´s of luxury chocolates packs, 50 tins of cat food as it was dented and loads of packs of stew veg there was a lot more but it was years ago. Never take fish or meat but so much of the stuff they throw out is such a waste. I once got a 30quid bonsai tree just cause the package was a little squished.
I also got banned from waitrose but they did the best stuff and they always lock up now
I grow 70% for us and 30% for the snails, then the neighbours eats them
