I was a bit flummoxed on Sunday while visiting an elderly uncle(he's 82) in Hospital. His stats were checked by a nurse while we were there and she concluded his bp was extremely low. She asked him if he was feeling ok which he said he was and she asked him to drink some water to try to improve the bp reading. However, the Hospital is administering medication to my uncle for high bp.
We had a wee discussion about it expressing some surprise and were interrupted by the wife of another patient who said that he too was being treated for high bp but his bp readings were extremely low.
Anyone competent to comment? I'm not looking for anything highly technical by way of an explanation. just trying to understand something that appears odd.
