Finding a cattery where I think that the people might understand 16yr old grumpy Domino cat (and his daft mum!).
It's a short drive away, but closer than the cattery where Dom (and my beloved Oliver cat) spent their hols for many years (owners there now retired now), so a new 'holiday home' has had to be found.
The owner (and plenty of 'chalet girls' are all daft cat mummies too, and the facility is well thought out and laid out.
Best bit? 'If you agree, we like to let each cat out in turn in the (secure!) walkway to have a play every day - a romp round burns off the energy of the young cats, and the venerable oldies seem to enjoy stretching their legs a little.'
Another best bit? 'Oh - this is Eric, he's been coming here years, and is getting on a bit now. He has arthritis in his elbows so we put an extra blanket in his bed to move him a bit closer to his closed pen heater.'
Anther best bit? 'This is Lottie - this is her first visit and she's a bit shy, so we make sure we put her food bowl inside her closed pen so she has some privacy when she's eating.
Another best bit? *shouts* ' THIS IS TULULAH - SHE TALKS TO US ALL THE TIME!' - yowl, yowl, YOWL!
Another best bit? 'All the pens have a window over the fields so the cats can have a chat with the birds'.
Happy Hazel - and, I VERY much hope - a happy Domino cat.
