I've eventually managed to get some compost. Yay!!! I've been needing it for ages but since I don't drive it makes it a little difficult. I hate asking for lifts and even if I do cadge a lift then I still need a hand for picking up and carrying. Taxi's are also out of the question when I'm on my own as I find a lot of drivers unwilling/unable to help put heavy items into the boot. So today took o/h along for him to shift the 125l bags, wonder how long they'll last me?

Back in newly painted bedroom, and new bed linen, very nice.

Son from South Africa rang me, thought it was a nuisance call ( as you do), so he sent me a message saying, 'it's me ringing! That was nice on a Friday afternoon.

Went to an 'event' this afternoon, a 'celebration of volunteering' for the Hospice we volunteer at, was presented with a 5 year service 'award badge'. Lovely afternoon tea, something we rarely have, was lovely.

had a lovely evening last night, son and D.I.L bought grand daughter over - now 2 months old and eldest son and G.F came over too, lovely seeing them all together, cuddling and playing with the baby - made me feel all warm inside! And my 'furry babies' were so well behaved with her too just had lots of little sniffs and laying down next to her being protective. Just makes you think that the little things in life are all we need to bring a smile and happiness.

The first new potato's of the year. Only a boiling due to impatience I am two weeks to soon, who cares.

I have an interview today at 2pm - a gardening job on a very large, well-known Argyllshire estate. Part-time job to tie in with my studies. Down to the final two. The other person is Colin who is in my class! I'll have my fingers crossed for Colin at 11 - his interview is first.

Life

After part of my bowel burst 3 years ago this july at the age of 48 which resulted in a life saving opp and the use of a compost bag ( waiting for a reversal) , life itself.....
