I've been following BM's lead and hanging about the rejects at H0m3b@se.
I filled a trolley - twice
6 hanging baskets of tomatoes @ £1 /£1.50 each.
Grafted toms @ 50p
Lots of herbs @ 50p
15 strips of veg seedlings @ 50p
4 goosegogs and 2 Kiwi Issais (Yeah, I know I said I wouldn't buy any more but at 50p))
and some geraniums and petunias.
Had a good laugh and banter with some of the other plantaholics, hanging around the chap who was marking them down.
All in all, a good way to spend a drizzly afternoon

Went to the village open gardens and scarecrow day today.
Some of the gardens are fantastic but.....
they have a plant stall and......
2 large Champagne rhubarb 50p
4 large and flowering Marmande toms 50p
4 carnations 20p
6 assorted perenial bug attracters (can't remember there names) all over 6in tall in pots £2.00
3 feverfew 50p
2 lavenders 50p
A huge flowering current in a lovely terracotta pot £1.00
A bergamot 20p
5 extra large long planters £1.25
And because the weather has kept the visitor numbers down they have lots of plants left so I might just bimble over the field to see what I can snaffle.......excuse while I get my coat back on.
Happy - Part 2.
Oh eck what have I done - after a bimble back over the nice ladies said 'come back at 5.15 and anything still here you can have'.
So Mr Lump has now set off with the car to see whats there and I am waiting like a kid at Christmas.Last edited by Lumpy; 14-06-2015, 05:12 PM.I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. Thomas A. Edison

I loved the weather at the weekend - all wet and horrible and am going to do a weather dance so next year can be the same so I can get more of this...
The 4 toms are in the porch, the flowering current has already been put in the garden and Jeanette's haul now includes the hose reel thingy as she has an outside tap and we don't and a couple of baskets.
Now where are they all going to go I wonder?Last edited by Lumpy; 15-06-2015, 10:32 AM.I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. Thomas A. Edison

So I didn't get the job I was after (Colin did get the job) but I have got a much better one - helping to restore a walled garden. I am very happy, it will be really interesting. Passed my first year of college. Finished college yesterday with a BBQ and the rain stayed away. Wee downer yesterday as we found out the gardens where we have been studying have been sold. Next year we will be moved to different gardens - don't know where yet.
I've still to check but is there any new puppy news?

Just been to the local baths for a swim and they opened the outdoor part!!!
Yey!!!! I was like a big kid wizzing round the river torrent and fighting my way through the wave machine and laying back on the bubble beds- all in the glorious sunshine
And the best bit of it was that there were only 8 of us using it!...Yippee!...I feel like I've been on me hollyblobs!"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

Two things today.
First the rambling rector rose outside the back door. It looks and smells fabulous.
Second, and more importantly, my son has arrived back home from the US this afternoon where he has been spending the last 6 weeks. I got an enormous hug when he walked through the door.
