Happy to read all those lovely comments on the VVS results thread!
It's a joy to run this competition each year...fantastic to see the entries...and just imagine all the grinning going on.
Fantastic entries this year...very hard to make choices too.
Even those who didn't get votes entered produce better than most of my produce....so , a huuuuge pat on the back to them too!
You can almost hear the grins can't you!Last edited by Nicos; 03-11-2015, 11:47 PM."Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

Oh how happy am I?
The wonders of modern heating technology.....
The man came to the new bungalow to de cap the gas and show me how the heating works.
Well, I have never had gas central heating before as everywhere I have ever lived has had a motly collection of open fires (yea taost and chestnuts), Economy 7 (which should have been dismissed when some daft begger came up with the idea) or oil.
So, I innocently ask - 'How do I put the hot water on? and his answer was 'turn the tap on'.
Off I scampered (well plodded as scampering is way beyond my capabilities since the incident with the pogo stick, miners helmet and stripy leg warmers) and turned the hot taps on.
I didn't know such a thing was possible as constant hot water and for the next few hours turned the taps on each time I walked past and stared at the water like I was a drug induced trance.
Yey for heating.....Last edited by Lumpy; 05-11-2015, 08:04 AM.I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. Thomas A. Edison

The bungalow next door has finally sold - YAY! For about two years we've lived next door to an empty home while it's been gutted and refurbished and then languished on sale at a really rather ridiculous steep price for months.
I hope the new owners didn't pay the actual asking price or they may be a bit disappointed at the riff raff next door lol - i.e. us!LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

Just had a chat to my sister reference my nephews apprenticeship at a very famous car company. He is loving it. He has already met the BIG, BIG BOSS. He said the guy knew all about him and they had a great chat and put him at ease straight away.
Yesterday he went to their web design department and worked with them on designing a web page. He said they were really nice and listened to his ideas. They put his ideas down and tried them but if they didn't work they explained why they didn't work and didn't make him feel that his ideas were stupid or his input wasn't worth diddly squat.
Just so pleased for him.sigpic
