Hoeing between the rows of a potato crop for the first time in over 15 years. (Can't believe how old that makes me sound... I swear I'm a spring chicken, yet!)

Was at the children's hospice this morning doing my voluntary bit, and heard that we have been given one of the 'gardens from Chelsea', can't remember the name, but a wild/meadowy one, at least 4,000 plants, arriving Friday, isn't that lovely. We have an area that has already been designated for a 'meadow' area, so this will form part of it.

Yep the sun is out - better than yesterday when it was really cold. Still ripping up front lawn as many of the shops seem to be getting rid of their plants at daft prices e.g 12 strawbs for £1 and a 2ft Cordeline for 1.99 - bargain.I have not failed. Today I had a little peek into the side of one of the rows of new potatoes (foremost) just to see if there was anything there yet (9 weeks) Yippee!!! I can see baby potatoes. That's it. Next week the fork is going in.Comment
