                  • Homeb4se Tomato plants reduced to a whoppin 20p...............I restrained myself to only 17 plants.......................Oops, bedding plants also reduced to 50p for 6. I only bought 5 packs............................so 17 Toms + 30 bedding plants for just under 6 squid, not a bad afternoons shop.

                    • Watching the blackbird dig through my newly spread bark to chase what ever it was he /she had spotted.
                      There was bark chips flying in all directions while the bird was in a frenzy. It finally ended up having a tug of war with something, probably a worm.

                      • Finding out that I am not to be made redundant! I still have a job in September, albeit at much reduced hours - but that is OK as I wanted to be able to look after the 'grand-princess' a couple of days a week so DiL can go back to work part-time. Didn't realise how anxious I was about it until the results of the governors' deliberations were announced.

                          • My oldest thinking strawberry plants are aquatic (should really be a rant as well, but bless her ) Plus I don't particularly like watering but she does so won't complain

                            • Lovely rain most of the night and still drizzling now. The garden has perked up and looks good. Except for the hanging basket petunias, which now look all beraggled.

                              • Overnight rain....a real blessing for the plot, quite breezy now so hope its not a drying wind. Going to start easing back to gardening today so first job is sharpening the hoe
