        • My eldest taking an interest in the garden ..........................................putting 8 packs of golden beetroot, broad beans, poppies, micro veg and others in the bottom of the buggy in the gc. Picking toms off the plants (shame they are still green), getting the hose out and turning the tap on repeatedly she even tried to get a flying pigeon with it

Bless her, I can't be angry she is only ickle and growing up far to quickly already

          • Related to the site:-

Watching the chickens and the dog fascinated by each other, they just stare for hours.
Seeing new shoots come up every few days from the seeds we all planted.
My new seeded lawn finally starting to look like a lawn although it does need touching up a bit.

            Non site related:-

Reading my children's reports from school and being extremely proud of them.
Hitting PB's in the gym or just being in the gym really.

                • Not sure if this should be here or in the rant section but a nice lady from the Council phoned this afternoon and said that somebody had entered our front garden into the annual garden competition.

Well at least its nearly finished - but we have no chance of doing any more sprucing as the judges are coming TOMORROW!

                            • OK imagine the scene - there's me sitting at the table trying to control the pages of my book in the wind while I waited for the car to turn up with the 3 expected people from the council to judge our front garden for their annual competition.

I hear a vehicle pull up (could'nt see what it was as I have an a badly placed shed when it comes to nosing at the neighbours.

No its not a car with 3 people its a piggin mini bus, with intergrated lift parked outside.

Off they trundled all 8 of them!

2 with camera, all with clip boards, 1 with a zimmer on wheels, most with resigned bordom etched on their faces and the nice but visually challenged council lady!

At this point I'm laughing, they are looking from me to one another as all I could think about was that they were out on a 'jolly' and singing............

'Did'nt we have a lovely time the day we went to.........'

                              Followed by......

Any hope of garden recognition has well and truely GONE

                              • I have my fingers and toes crossed for you...I really hope you do well.

It just goes to show that sometimes, what you do for your own pleasure, affects other people in a very positive way!

Well done on cheering up your neighbours/passers by with your hard graft and artistic skills ! ..and that alone is a massive reward for your effort whether you win or not!
