  • Misreading the Garmin at the end of this morning's Parkrun - when the result was emailed through, I found I was a minute quicker than I thought I was.

Double-checked the Garmin, and yup - my legs were working much better than my eyes, it seems!

    • First the good news - just got back from the village car boot with 8 of these

for the princely sum of £2 - and whats more I know exactly waht I can use them for.

Now the bad, also from the car boot we (and notice I say 'we' not I) picked up a set of 3 bone china, green and white frog plant pot holders - one large, one med and one small. I bought them from an animal charity stall - so what the piggin heck am I going to do with them?

          • Growing a decent sunflower for the first time! Not quite 8 feet tall (the cane resting against it for the photo is 8 feet) but the bees don't seem to mind one bit.

Even the pond is only about 25cm off full. Is that the drought over?

                              • Not getting a divorce and hubby getting away lightly, so he has learnt for next time

Hubby thought it would be nice to put real chillis in the chilli last night so I let him have a green ohnivec (no heat when unripe) and three pretty purple (50'000shu so not that hot). Yep you have already guessed it he touched his face and next thing I heard was.........what are you growing........chemical warfare......it burns.........

He was very good he didn't swear once, but I really was quite worried for a moment. Well he has got a way lightly for when the various 500'000+ shu chillis are ready
