    • I'm up! Morning all. Looking gloomy out now, but should brighten up later.
We have the breast feathers and just a few others of a starling on our lawn. A red kite or sparrow hawk must have been using our lawn as a dinner table. Not a bit of body left at all, just a few feathers.
Home alone this morning, my aircraft spotting hubby is doing his thing at an airport near us.
Picking tomatoes, beans and spuds every day now, loving it
      Have a great day everyone

                  • Getting a three foot walnut tree out of the hedge (ours) in one piece so we can put it somewhere more sensible. It was either that or fell the birch tree next to it.

                        • Sunday brunch I cook a full Cornish breakfast with bacon, eggs, sausage, chorizo, hogs pudding, tomato and mushroom.

I listen to John Coltrane whilst cooking and it is one of the highlights of my week.

                          • My experimental approach to growing carrots on my stony clay worked!

For those with short memories, this was to make v-shaped slit with a spade and fill with worn out potting compost, sow into that and cover with debris net for the entire season.

Today's pulling of Early Nantes 2 might end up being my entry for the VVS.

Unless the maincrop (Giant Red) turns out to be even better, of course...
