It's not against the rules Bill.
Not if you are prepared to pay the advertising fee.
    Simples!

You are very much at Liberty to appeal direct to Admin if you wish Bill....we just uphold the T&C on their behalf.
Of course rules can be changed if it's mutually beneficial...please feel free to ask them.

On another forum I frequent there is a forum for "Sales notices". This is private, for registered members only, so is not harvested by Google.

The general idea is that if someone sees an appropriate auction on, say, eBay it can be publicised to members, but the world at large are not made aware (although you might bid against another forum member)

That forum also allows folk to post a link to their own, e.g., eBay auction.

To my mind that provides the wide-audience benefit of, say, eBay [which helps increase the geographic audience spread] whilst also telling "forum chums" that the goods are available, whilst all the issues associated with "I bought it but it was a crock" is not the Forum site's problem, but the auction site's

I'm not looking for any change, just chucking the thought out there in case helpful.

Interesting thought there Kristen, I have sent a link to Admin regarding this thread To prevent it getting side-tracked with other issues I am locking it until such time as Admin have made a comment.
