  • Need a new tumble dryer

My old dryer has turned up its toes and gone to appliance heaven, so I need to get a new one. Has anyone used ao.com, and if so, how have you found them.

I ask because last time I used C*rrys, and only noticed when they'd gone that in taking away the old appliance, they'd given my fridge a hefty dent. Probably why they whizzed off without taking away the packaging as they were supposed to do

    Yes...they were brill.
    Fast and efficient.
We ordered a tumble drier for MIL 8pm, next morning got a text at 7am to say they'd be there within the hr.
10 mins from arrival we got another text saying they were nearly there.
They took the machine through to the back of the house .
We had the option of removal of the old one at a small extra cost.

We've used them several times before and have been very happy with them.
We even had someone phone later the same day to check it was delivered and were we happy with the service!

    Not bad eh?

Thanks Nicos. They seemed good in reviews, but first hand experience is a better reference I think. I'd almost made up my mind to use them, so now I will

Daughters in-laws used them at Christmas as their fridge broke down...ordered a new one in the afternoon, it arrived 7.30am next morning! Great service considering the time of year.

I bought a new H**p***t dryer recently and it's nowhere near as good as our old H**p***t dryer. Just my opinion though! (Not from AO though, I hasten to add).

We've used ao. and will do again the next time we need something. There was none of this waiting in all day we received the same text and phone service as Nicos.
Price was good we bought a double oven cooker for the same cost as a single one.

I've used ao.com for a couple of things - always found them really efficient, and the prices really good. Also they deliver at the time they say they will so you're not hanging around for hours!

In the interest of fairness we bought a Bosch dishwasher recently from Currys and they delivered on time with phone calls to tell us they were coming, they took the old one away (No charge) and plumbed in the new one.

You are right Bill, we have also had fabulous service from that well known electrical retailer on several occasions. Delivered when they said they would, driver called to let us know when he would be here and the item was reasonably priced too.

Thanks all. I've ordered an AEG one to be delivered Friday morning - good excuse to have a day off work .

Was a bit chary about Bosch, Bill, as they had some recalls with tumble dryers, otherwise I might have gone for that make. AEG has very good reviews, so we shall see. Proof of the pudding as they say. My TD is used all the time as there is nowhere in the garden to put any sort of clothes line.

The item i bought was a dishwasher, but in general I like Bosch. We did however buy a tumble drier before Christmas and it was a candy, they give a 5 year parts guarantee. Its working very well and was very cheap. Seems to me everything is now made in China and brands are almost irrelevant. Do we make anything in this country now?

Yea! It's arrived! Picked a timeslot of 7am - 12pm, tracked my order online just after 7am, and found I was in the 7.30 - 9.30 timeslot. The van arrived at 8.50am, and the men apologised as they were running a bit late! They also stopped on the doorstep to cover their shoes with plastic overshoes to protect my hall carpet. They were in and out in about 5 minutes, including removing the old dryer.

                          Brilliant, courteous service.

going to try the dryer out on a load of towels now.

Other companies could learn a lot about customer service from AO.
