    Cockerals at it and crowing
    Egg tray full
    Snowdrops finally open
Sun and able to feel the warmth from it
    First of the crocuses opening

and I even saw a honey bee out today (I am ignoring the fact there was light patchy frost last night )

    Oh I forgot to add

Weed seedlings and already feeling behind on my gardening

I saw my first Peacock butterfly today, brought out of hibernation by the strong sunshine. Here's a really bad photo (phone camera zoom lol):

I was thinking similar myself. So that I can garden before June!

Snowdrops on the lawn; only four but they are there. Daffs forcing their way through the weed-suppressant fabric and bark chips I put down - determined or what? I was going to fold it back for them but they don't need any help! Honeysuckle at the plot putting out little buds and leaves. Oh and the nettles are just starting to push through ... bless them. I think that's the word I want.

My snowdrops were also looking good in the sun yesterday. 3rd season, after planting, and they are thickening up well. Except I now feel the need to underplant the whole area under the trees for "impact", rather than just lining the path

Saw a queen bumble yesterday on the winter honeysuckle. First of the year. Summer's coming!

At this time of the year folk post pictures of Snowdrop venues they have been too - I saw someone's photo the other day (location unknown) which was wall-to-wall Snowdrops under the trees, looked amazing I don't have much area of woodland, but I'm thinking that carpeting the whole area with snowdrops would look lovely.

For anyone who is tempted to plant some I got my snowdrops, initially, from www.eurobulbs.co.uk at a cost of about £70 for 1,000 (and there were a lot more than 1,000 in the box ...) so it is not that dear to do. FWIW when walking down the path I can't spot the difference between bog-standard G. nivalis singles, and the more fancy doubles, or even the few "unusuals" that I have got. The only difference that I can detect is the wider leafed chaps that are much earlier - so perhaps worth planting a few of them to lengthen the flowering season.

Loads of snowdrops, tulip leaves poking through the soil. SUNSHINE on the soil near the fence (first since early November). Blueberry buds just starting to show signs of opening.

A flower on an early strawberry.

Flowers visible on the Half Pint peas - admittedly in the sitting room, but still, PEAS

Dunnocks have now started to chase each other around the garden. Frogs have gone dormant again though...

My good lady is currently living in Pensylvania, spring is a long way away there with temperatures dropping to below -30 degrees Celcius and snow on the ground.
