For dried stuff (beans, rice, pasta etc I use Douwe Egbert coffee jars http://www.douwe-egberts.co.uk/produ...re-indulgence/

I like the coffee and save the jars for storing stuff

I do this too and have been getting a huge jar 600g at Costco (on offer for a while) which holds loads

The Ikea copy ones leak like a sieve...Ive found Wilko the best price for Kilner/Le Parfait unless you fall lucky when B&M or Home Bargains get them and Ive also seen them in The Range

But seeing as everyone refers to these things as "Kilner Jars" it may well be that the Trade Mark has been lost ...

I've tried the ike@ ones (several years ago - I hate that shop) they weren't very good.

looked on dunelm seems the lookalike brands have thinner wire clips so they wont be air tight someone tried to bend the wire to make them seal but to no avail and they are discounted at the moment
1lt is £1.99 at the moment for le parfait
