The bottom blue bar has gone and just left a white line across where it use to be.

Are you using Adblock Plus with the

OK this will be my last post for the forseeable future as I find myself no longer able to read the Vine without effort and discomfort.
I have serious sight issues and the inclusion of pale blue bars to either side plus the very wide bottom dark blue one has meant that my enjoyment of the site has vanished.
I will check in daily to see if things improve but I doubt that my absence will change the need to advertise.
Even adblock has not managed to remove the blue.
So.....thanks to all of you for your help, advice and wisdom as well as the very enjoyable humour.
I do hope to be able to do an Arnie in the future. XX

Lumpy, I understand completely but hope that we can find a way to make it possible for you to stay with us.
I'm using Adblockplus on Chrome which has got rid of the dark blue bottom bar and the side bars are pale blue, no text, images, or moving doodahs.
If you Press Control and + to make the text bigger it pushes the blue sidebars off the screen (does for me anyway). Would this help?

That's what I've done


and moving the cursor gently along the top of the dark blue bar to find the hand to click on, does get rid of the blue bottom bar.

I am finding that the site hangs often waiting for the plethora of third party javascript ad scripts to render/respond. It is becoming quite a chore.

As an aside, site owners/devs (if you read this): Do not upgrade to VB 5.x, please do look at Xenforo. I had the immense displeasure of upgrading a large forum (several GB db) to VB5, then back to VB4 and gladly then onto Xenforo. The VB part took days (literally) and rendered the site inoperable (VB5 is ****).

I am using ad blocker. I have now seem to get rid of the white line.

I reckon I'll stay for a while, AdBlock Plus is doing it's job, it just means I have to use the 'puter rather than iPhone... gets irritating after a few mins on there.

Don't mind visiting two gardening sites tho if the nuttier elements wander off.

Have been on my ipad mainly since the infection of Blue Bar Disease and there I can cure it by stretching the screen slightly. Having come on the PC I have applied the same thinking, change the screen zoom from 100% to 110% and hey presto blue bars have gone, plus the text is a bit bigger. Might be of help to someone.

Sorry to add fuel to the fire but the amount of script this site is now using is having a detrimental affect on my tablet performance. I have no issue with appropriate and proportionate advertising but there is a line and in my opinion that line has been crossed.

Perhaps in the future the powers that be should consult with its members and strike the balance between afore mentioned members and the need to control costs. As the vine is a spin off from the magazine surely the need is to make the site cost neutral not a revenue generation mechanism.

The posts in this thread show the amount of displeasure the users are feeling and I applaud the MODs for taking it seriously but I am affraid that the GYO management could'nt give a to## based on responses to date

I am just glad the adverts and thick dark blue bottom line have gone for now at least,
the pale blue background/sides are OK,the only thing that does bother me,it's a bit bright,i used to have something on the putor,got of the web,that turned down the brightness,automaticaly,but since i got my new set up,it's gone,can anyone remember what it was please,
