Have to say, that on the iPad, it's getting really difficult to scroll up or down without accidentally touching one of the adverts.
I'm sure that's what part of the positioning of these ads is all about.

I've just installed AdBlock Plus extension to Safari - been meaning to use something like this for a while now so thank you for the remind, I now have your blue side bars too.

I must be fortunate I can just ignore the ad's unless I see something I want to look at.

The forum is a great goggle-able marketing opportunity for GYO to sell it's subscriptions, with content generated for free, which in turn means they can charge more for ad space in their magazines as the readership increases no...?
I use the forum in addition to the magazine subscription, very probably I shall keep my subscription going longer because of the forum.
I feel OK in using the forum with advertising blocked
