Tell you what is making me cross..... the water butts ad! the hide button doesn't work - so I've clicked on the ad 3 times when I didn't want to see it at all.

I have clicked it about 10 times today.

Is it a pay per click ad?

We have removed the backing plate on mobile - that should hopefully alleviate a lot of your issues. Please let me know if there is anything else that needs addressing

I can't get to the close advert 'x' on my phone so can't see the vine



Also on my computer, if I choose to use ad block plus, the advanced message addition box disappears, can someone fix that?

I just looked at the first post in this thread, I wondered how long I'd been disgruntled and stressed out every time I clicked on the 'advert roulette' as one member put it rather than the enjoyable experience I had on the vine when I first joined.

Has this palaver really been going on since February? It's August now..... the issues have been going on longer than I remember being a member of a forum that worked well.

Are these issues really just bug fixes that keep going wrong again and again, or is it genuinely the owners of the site saying 'screw you' to us apparent click-bait fodder?

We have no idea exactly what is going on BH.

Admin had legal contracts to fulfil with the adverts initially.

They are now working on trying to make the site user friendly for mobile devices ...?Hopefully his will mean the likelihood of an app which was very much in demand a while back.

We're hoping they will give us an update fairly soon, but there are certainly knock on effects when something is changed.
And yes, it's still being sorted, and yes, it does seem to be taking for ever.

You should try being in our shoes trying to mod through all this-

Please keep posts positive and informative to help the admin team....even if it's just for the sake of us mods keeping our sanity

The positive message is that 'us', those who have been on the site for a while as well as a few newbies are coping, just, with all the fumbling about.

The negative is that we are going to loose, not just newbies who can't cope with the onslaught of ads and the ways of trying to restrict them but also the audience for these ads. Therefore, people will not see this and that ad because they are fed up and have bluggered off to a more user friendly zone.

It's a shame that this site is so controlled by the need to make money that it is losing it's potential buyers.

Oh Oh and while I'm being level headed - Ta to the Grapes who freely help and advise EVERYBODY irrestpective of normal constraints.

Thanks Nicos, I have the utmost sympathy for the mods, you folks are the humN side to the forum mgt and are unfortunately in the same boat as us, it's the faceless owners I feel used by.

For any advertisers, be aware I'm probably not the only one deliberately avoiding buying from any ad that I happen to accidentally click on.

Subtle, not in your face ads, I can live with.
