I've not really had any problems browsing on the iPad

No Flash available on iPad, so no moving image adverts built using Flash (which is probably all of them!) will be able to display.

I browse mostly on my PC and with adblock - my screen looks like BM's, so I don't have a problem with the ads.

However, I do sympathise with those on different platforms who are bombarded, and Sparrow makes some good points about ease of use, and whether the site becomes less attractive/easy to use - particularly to new members who probably wont be bothered sticking around to tweak settings (or install an adblocker) just to use a site which they don't know the value of yet (if you see what I mean!).

I've now got adverts at the side and a green bottom bar, despite using adblock plus.
Go figure.

Might be worth trying to clock the container-elements "backing-right" and "backing-left". Not sure if they have been named the same previously, or not.

Hmmm ... that seemed to work, could do with someone confirming please. I've taken out the specific JPG filters (which were added by me using Ad Block plus "Add element" and clicking on them individually) and I now have these, manually added, filters. The "meerkat" ones were added for the footer bar. So far it still has that element name

There's a really annoying "visit Scotland" ad that's just appeared in the middle of the thread. You don't have to click on it - just accidentally drag your mouse across it and it pops up and takes over your screen....

Used to be able to enlarge page on tablet to get rid of these things but can't do that now! Very distracting...it doesn't really make sense as most of the ads are missing so what's the point?!
