Thanks Nicos, I have the utmost sympathy for the mods, you folks are the humN side to the forum mgt and are unfortunately in the same boat as us, it's the faceless owners I feel used by.

For any advertisers, be aware I'm probably not the only one deliberately avoiding buying from any ad that I happen to accidentally click on.

Subtle, not in your face ads, I can live with.

In defence of the site -running a forum like this costs a bit of money (especially the Mods wages), therefore, I can put up with the ads.

The good thing now are the ads are gardening related and obviously are from some of the same companies that support the magazine - no longer am I getting 'Meet Russian Ladies', etc when I come on.

Although the site had become a bit un-weilding over the last wee while, the 'faceless owners' have been coming on asking about concerns and trying to solve them.

The site for me is working fine for me now -and although I still mistakenly click on some ads, that is more down to me accesing the site on a tablet smaller than a decent book (although if I hold in portrait, the ads disappear).

I'm quite sure they will be looking in to your problems and trying to fix it asap.

The Mods are unpaid but we do receive a free subscription to the magazine. Our reward is reading all your luvly posts You can't put a price on that

You are correct RL...we Mods don't get paid- we donate our time.

That's why it's rather upsetting when peeps don't 'play' nicely or moan a lot, cos we are expected to read every single post and it can be a bit draining.

We do however receive a free GYO mag each month.

Any alerts or pm's you send us are always appreciated, cos it make our life a bit easier

Joking apart, as Nicos said, reading every post, checking that they're all suitable for the Forum, can get a bit dispiriting at times like this. We Mods have to work through all the changes and they affect some of the moderating, behind the scenes, tasks too. For us, picking up our trowels and moving to another forum is not an option - and I doubt that any of us would do it anyway. The Vine, for all its hiccups, has a lot to offer, it feels comfortable and there's so much knowledge willingly shared. Thank you!

This afternoon whilst at the plots i thought,mm will have a look see on the vine,what a heck of a change for the worst,i no like,and now understand others on mobils ext,i shall wait till i get home and use the big one,like now.

I think it is very much personal preference Lottie, I prefer using my iphone as it is add free, although my tablet is good too
