when I press like it comes up as one other person likes your post, not my user name..

"One other" come up if 3 or more have liked a post. Like a post that no one has liked...your name will show

well I just liked veggies post and it ses you like this post.
No big deal, just wanted to be sure that my sentiments are conveyed to someone I think has made a contribution.

Ioan i just 'liked' your post and its says in the green band 'you like this' so what you see is normal.

The most recent likes appear at the beginning of the list of names as "You and X, Y and Z" like this post. When there are more than about six likes the oldest ones drop off and it says "You and X, Y, Z and 5 others like this post.

Its as Scarlet said, if you click on the "one other" it shows the names of all that like a post.

Dont worry ioan, It can be confusing sometimes, but in a few years time you be an expert like the rest of us..

You can click on it and it brings all the names up.

Or, if you look on the right side where you click 'like' it means you haven't as yet, but if it says 'unlike' it means you have already 'liked' the post but you have the option to undo it

Several things mentioned here, but just in case not clear:

If you click LIKE on a post the message will START with "You ..." so will either be "YOU like this" or "YOU and X, Y, Z and 999 others like this"

If someone else sees that same post THEY will see

"ioan likes this"

or

"X, Y and ioan like this"

or

"X, Y, Z and 1 other like this"

When you look at a post that you have "Liked" you cannot see the message identically to how other people will see it. But it does work!
