I've done now till Hampton Court Flower Show, which I love and can walk to from here...This year I will remember a) sunblock and b) a bigger bag.

Having said that, I did come home today with 3 packets of seeds (robinsons peas, some weird beetroot and some Brazilian chillis) plus a tiny calico chilli plant from the Edible Garden Show.

Went out today to buy sunflower seeds for the birds - came back with 3 oriental poppies, 1 from W*lkos, then I saw 2 more at the garden centre.

....And a pretty hardy geranium that's pale purple flecked with white....

Final list - never. What with the "too good to miss" buys, the "bargains for next year" and the panic buying of pickle jars there's always something else to buy.

I actually had to avoid a whole part of the local market today as i new i would ending up spending 10-20euros on things i already have, and do not need, but watching people walk away with gorgeous plants, my legs nearly took me there themselves.
Might have to have a look next week though

I am really trying to resist buying any seeds at all as I already have enough to last me about 10 years or more. Fruit plants/trees are allowed though, a nice plum tree has caught my eye

Would anyone like to tell me what kind of plum they have and how they rate it? I've been looking based on price and the cheapest ones I've found are Avlon and Czar, does anyone grow either of these? I plan to grow it in a pot and don't really want it above 8-10ft if that helps for recommending one.

Done it again....popped into the GC for some more ant powder - (no, I don't use it on ants, I've found that a sprinkling along the edge of the front doorstep stops the local tom from spraying in the porch) - and came out with a monarda as well. I've tried it from seed with no success (got more seeds for another try though). Love the scent of the leaves, and the bees love the flowers. Where to find room to plant it though....

Aaaaaaaargh! I've got the builders in. I so want to plant things but the building thing is going on at both ends of my garden. My son(project manager) doesn't understand my urge to grow things and won't let me. Surely using the middle bit of my garden wouldn't upset things, would it?

So I don't have a final shopping list as I daren't go anywhere near anywhere that sells plants or seeds as I have nowhere for them to go, including the kitchen windowsill as the kitchen will be demolished in 2weeks time.

Now, on top of an ever growing list of...would like....could have.....useful...need and desparate I need longer pegs for the cloches to stop them flying like kites in the gale force winds.

Any idea what the winning Lobbo numbers are this week?
