I'm going to look up the symptoms as I'm looking after next door's rabbit. Hop the wee one gets better soon.

Today's update. He is still here just sitting around and not eating. Still giving fluids every three hours. Sorry to say there doesn't seem to be any improvement.Gardening requires a lot of water - most of it in the form of perspiration. Lou Erickson, critic and poet

Today's bulletin.
Still hanging on in there. His breathing seems a little less laboured and one eye looks a little less swollen but still a very sick bunnie. Still giving fluids but am going to try porridge made of pellets soaked in water. He did manage a couple of thin shavings of carrot yesterday. Not out of the wood yet.Gardening requires a lot of water - most of it in the form of perspiration. Lou Erickson, critic and poet

Hopefully he is winning his battle - thats one tough bunny. All the best to you both. XI have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. Thomas A. Edison

I think that we could say the patient is comfortable. He is led sniffly and seems to be sitting a bit more normally. Last night he got a bit active for the first time but he still is not eating and weight loss is beginning to be obvious. I am going to the Vet today to see if they have any Rabbit Complan and something suitable to give it to him.
I am vaguely optimistic.Last edited by roitelet; 14-04-2015, 09:07 AM.Gardening requires a lot of water - most of it in the form of perspiration. Lou Erickson, critic and poet

Necessity being the mother of invention and not wanting to drive to the vet I devised the patient rabbit feeder. One syringe with the barrel of a pippett rammed on the end and a porridge of rabbit pellets, carrot, Apple and cabbage. Shoved the end in the rabbits mouth and it works.Gardening requires a lot of water - most of it in the form of perspiration. Lou Erickson, critic and poet

Would it be worth adding a little honey or sugar just to give Mann a bit of glucose to help with the healing process?I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. Thomas A. Edison

Today he seems much the same no better, no worse. From what I have read this evil virus takes two weeks to either get better or........ The porridge made with rabbit pellets was still lumpy and difficult to give with a syringe so today on the menu is rolled oats, dandelion, spinach, bramble tips honey and butternut squash. We will just have to see how that goes down.Gardening requires a lot of water - most of it in the form of perspiration. Lou Erickson, critic and poet
