  • Weird presents

After being given 2 frogs today (and I was very pleased and grateful as they can help with my allotment slugs) I was wondering if anyone else had been given any odd/weird presents?

When newly pregnant with Lauren I had a rotten cold and was suffering trapped wind and went off to bed grumbling etc. Got up for work the next morning and when I put my coat on I found Steve had bought me a pack of tissues, soothers and setlers tums and put them in my pocket as a surprise!
Its the most romantic thing he's ever done, if not quite conventional!

OH bought me a tumble dryer! I was SO chuffed! May sound mad BUT my old one had died and I had rung up to buy one from our local cheap ads but it had been sold and I was gutted.

Following night this chap in a van pulled up outside our house, rang the bell, I went out to say what on earth do you think you are doing, and low and behold! there was a shiny new tumble dryer!

Trouble is, these days it costs too much to use! LOL! The thought was there. Bernie

Mr EB bought me a tin of yacht varnish to go with the trug he bought me for my birthday/christmas last year. Which kind of renders it less weird really.

I don't consider it wierd, but my friends do. No 1 son usually buys me a bale of potting compost for my birthday in March. Much appreciated and very useful.

My hubby bought me a dust buster for my birthday and could'nt understand wht I was'nt delighted with it. Have to say, he's more careful of the gifts he chooses these days.

BW bought me a teapot last Christmas. Although I keep it for 'special', it is wonderful and I love it.

Mr D bought me a real quartz crystal ball from a shop in Bourton on the Water for my birthday one year, we were visiting with friends and visited the crystal shop where I fell in love with this almost entirely clear quartz crystal ball thats 5" in diameter! He made me walk round BotW in the rain for 3 hours before he went back and bought it for me!

The same year I bought him a 4' broadsword and scabbard, with a haematite pommel, very nice it is too!

                      Sounds fab Mrs D.

As a leaving present for a colleague Mr EB bought her a large "egg" shaped geode thing of Celestite and a large lump of Obsidian. Other colleagues were largely unimpressed but said leaver was thrilled to bits.

Just what I would ask Bernie, I think he could tell where he could stick it from the look on my face, apparently I gave him the exact look he expected.

Bless um! What's that saying men are from mars, women from venus, or is it the other way round? Wouldn't swap them or the world though! Bernie
