  • Do you have a favourite word?

Keep it clean please! I'd like to know if you have any words that you really like, either for the way they sound, what they mean, or some other reason(s).

    I really like FORAGE

    - it brings to mind autumn-smelling woodlands and free food! Plus I love the sound it makes.

furtle and potter are good too.

    How about you?

    Nii

    and

    Shrubbery....

mostly because I watched Monty Python at the weekend. But without the Python influence it would have to be Yarp - this is from the film Hot Fuzz....

Nincompoop is mine. No idea where it comes from or what it means.
'Bulley beef' is my second favourite (phrase).

Absolutely is my favourite word. I find myself using it so often. It covers a lot of answers like, yes definitely, of course, yes indeed, and I am sure there are more.

And your hands begin to harden.

Don't know where nincompoop comes from, but it means idiot (in a fairly nice way), an alternative is numpty.

Serendipity for me too ... there's a shop in Southwold called that, where I went on my first date with my man - it also happened to be a crossword clue that day. Weird huh?

I also like Speigeleye (unsure of spelling...means fried egg I think, in German)
