Un-opened tin will be fine, but remember it has a flash point of 40c. I would also suggest safety glasses bud as trust me it stings like #@$# if you get in your eyes.

Wow, it seems like a mare to use. Glad I read this. So hopefully whenever I attempt similar thing I don't so anything silly

The tin would be un-opened............or would that pose a problem?

Probably not, but there is a very real chance that when you open the tin it will "splash" outwards (due to expansion of the fluid & the consequent pressurization of free air space in the tin) so cover the tin lid with a heavy cloth prior to & during opening the lid bud

And if you do get a splash butter is the old fashioned way of removing it, unless you have some industrial hand wipes handy.
