  • Lyrid meteor shower.

    Just a heads up for anyone interested .

    Apparently at it's peak just now but still visible for a few more days.

    I had a look for this last night as the sky was stunningly clear...nothing!

      Saw 1 last night, but the Lyrids is not a potentially heavy shower, sort of 15-18 per hour at the peak. And the "peak" viewing is usally after midnight, but that is not BST but UTC and that means after 1:00am.

      Throw in that Lyra is very low in the East (even North East a bit) at present so you need a low horizon and it gets not so easy.

      Did see a spectacular one from Leo the same night.
