Before Christmas I ordered online a packet of stuff to get rid of blanket weed in my pond. It was very expensive at £17 but blanket weed is ruining my pond. The parcel arrived and i chucked it on a shelf to be used in the spring.
Now the other day i decided to use it and I opened the packet to find a petrol lighter!!

What happened was that my son had ordered the lighter (he has the same christian names as me which is a tradition going back to 1540) and I had assumed it was mine. he did ask me if a parcel had arrived for him but i said no (he complained and got another).

So i thought i would have no chance of getting a replacement owing to the time factor but I emailed the company and they sent me a new packet completely FOC.

The suppliers were Un...s the well know seed company. That deserves a mention i think.

I assume my son will be sending the lighter back.

Now I'm curious about the missing blanket weed stuff! Did your son receive it and is it any good for lighting cigarettes?

RHS have been great in the past week or so replacing one Raspberry cane that didn't 'take' with 5 new ones! Awesome service, very proffessional emails and prompt service. As you say, good service deserves a mention.

I'll add another. David Austin roses have just replaced two Standard roses at a cost of nearly £80. My last ones didn't take that I planted in during December. My original choice had sold out but they offered to replace next Dec or I could choose again. Very happy with their service.

No he didnt, neither of us did, but in the end he got two lighters. As to whether the stuff would light cigarettes i will try tomorrow, if it blows up you will never hear from me again.
