I was having coffee with my friend this morning when we saw this sun halo:

What do you mean 'gonna'. It's rained most of the day here. Maybe for us it means dry and sunny!

I don't think so Ancee, this is from Wikipedia:

Atmospheric phenomena such as halos were used as part of weather lore as an empirical means of weather forecasting before meteorology was developed. They often do mean that rain is going to fall within the next 24 hours as the cirrostratus clouds that cause them can signify an approaching frontal system.

You were right Roitelet In the past 24 hours we have had hail, thunder and lightning and torrential rain. I have come to the conclusion I don't like sun halos after all!
